“THE CONTEMPLATION OF THE UPCOMING LOVE”
-
Oil on canvas, 60x40
This painting was first inspired by Picasso’s monumental female figures, seen at the Musée de l’Orangerie. Reinterpreted here, the figure becomes the symbol of an expectation imbued with both desire and hesitation toward the love that is about to arrive.
Her body, draped in white, wavers between the urge to hide and the impulse to reveal. The ram’s horns emphasize her animal and instinctive force — a raw, pulsional energy that coexists with the vulnerability of her folded gesture.
Suspended between past and future, restraint and surrender, she embodies the tension of a moment when one is about to yield to the call of love. The flame rising at her side becomes its sign: a promise of inner fire, vital energy contained yet irresistible.
